Dr Ramalatha Marimuthu has been in teaching for over 30 years and has a vast experience in motivating and training the students on skill development and peer networking. She organises leadership training workshops, conferences and congresses for training student leaders and for encouraging entrepreneurship which has resulted in many student start ups.
She also guides the students in developing unique solutions for social problems like inclusiveness and accessibility in day to day life for people with special needs. She has received many awards from IEEE, Lions Club, Government of Tamilnadu, India and Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, California for effecting positive changes in community through technology.
She has delivered lectures on assistive technology in universities and conferences all over the world and in Google, Mountainview and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland. Her areas of interest are assistive technology, women empowerment and effective education. With her years of teaching experience she has introduced many novelties in teaching and assessment methods and learnt from the results. Strategic Planning, Developing infrastructure, administration and people management are some of her interests. Being a positive person which is one of her greatest strength, She has developed herself in studying the human nature and identifying best people for the activities. This has given her a vast network of people with varying skills who trust in her ability to mentor and guide them. She is particularly interested in encouraging students and youngsters and helping them solve problems of academic and personal nature.
