Message from the General Chair

It is my privilege to serve as the General Chair of YESIST12, an international talent showcase that brings together bright minds from across the globe. Each year, YESIST12 engages participants from more than 30 countries, offering a platform for school students, university innovators, and young professionals to present solutions that embody social innovation and responsibility.

YESIST12 is more than a competition. It is a movement that nurtures a culture of communal collaboration, practical education, and sustainable development. By working on projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1–17), participants gain awareness of global challenges and develop the responsibility to create a better future for generations to come. This journey transforms education into something lasting — a form of indigenous knowledge passed from parent to child, enriched with values of brotherhood and social responsibility.

What makes YESIST12 truly exclusive is the diversity of thought and innovation contributed by students worldwide. Each project reflects unique perspectives, rooted in community needs and driven by creativity. When evaluated by our esteemed jury, these ideas evolve into multi-dimensional, scalable, and sustainable solutions that transcend borders, cultures, and societies.

Every year, we receive nearly 1000+ projects from different countries. From these, 150 outstanding projects reach the grand finale, leaving a profound impact not only on the students but also on universities, faculty members, and industry partners who collaborate with us. This synergy strengthens the bridge between academia, industry, and society.

At its core, YESIST12 embodies the spirit of IEEE’s tagline: “Advancing Technology for Humanity.” Through this initiative, we live the principle of technology for good, empowering young innovators to shape a sustainable and inclusive future.

I am proud to witness the transformative journey of YESIST12 each year, and I look forward to continuing this mission of fostering innovation, responsibility, and global collaboration.
