The 10th edition of YESIST12 was grandly inaugurated at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Kuala Lumpur, bringing together distinguished guests, dignitaries, mentors, volunteers, participants, and well-wishers united by a shared spirit of innovation. The event began with registration and kit distribution, fostering an engaging atmosphere as teams prepared for the initial rounds of project evaluations across six impactful tracks addressing global social and environmental challenges. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Yang Berhormat Senator Saraswathy Kandasami, Deputy Minister of Malaysia’s Ministry of National Unity, alongside eminent academicians and international experts. Highlights included the Malaysian National Anthem, Doa Recitation, welcome address by Prof. Ts. Dr. Faizal Mohamed, insights on YESIST12’s vision by Dr. Ramalatha Marimuthu, a recorded message from IEEE President-elect Mary Ellen Randall, the official Grand Finale declaration, magazine launch, and souvenir presentation. The two-day Grand Finale concluded as a vibrant convergence of ideas, empowering young innovators and reinforcing global collaboration for a sustainable future.

A vibrant morning set the tone for the inauguration of IEEE YESIST12 2024 at Tunis Science City, Tunisia, kicking off an event centered on innovation and global collaboration. The occasion gathered an esteemed lineup of dignitaries and experts, including Dr. Ramalatha Marimuthu, General Chair of IEEE YESIST12, Habib Kammoun, Chair of IEEE Tunisia Section, Andrew Knight, President of IEEE IAS, Eric Berkowitz, Director of Membership at IEEE Computer Society, Dr. Lenin Raja, Director of EMC Test & Training Center Pvt Ltd, and Nehad El-Sherif, Founder of MNKYBR Technologies Inc. The event emphasized the commitment to the IEEE Code of Ethics, followed by the introduction of track and committee chairs. A key highlight was the unveiling of the IEEE YESIST12 Magazine, followed by thought-provoking inaugural addresses from distinguished speakers. As the ceremony concluded, the stage was set for a dynamic competition, with participants poised to present groundbreaking innovations, marking the beginning of the Grand Finale.

IEEE YESIST12 2023 provided a valuable platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and the dissemination of cutting-edge research in various fields. The YESIST12 Grand Finale in Egypt was an incredible journey that combined exploration of Egypt’s cultural treasures with opportunities for networking and collaboration within the IEEE community. The YESIST12 Grand Finale was held as a hybrid event in Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Bangalore from September 10, 2022 to September 11, 2022. The event was live on Microsoft Teams. The international talent show, IEEE YESIST12 was filled with students and young professionals showcasing their fresh ideas to address humanitarian and social issues directly impacting their communities. A year-long journey of identifying and mentoring talent culminated in the Grand Finale with immense participation from finalists, volunteers, and delegates.

IEEE YESIST’12 2021 happened in a virtual mode using the Webex platform due to the global pandemic. The grand finale took place from the 18th to the 20th of September 2021. The final pitching round led to the selection of 6 winners, 8 runner-ups and 6 honourable mentions across 5 tracks including Innovation Challenge, Maker Fair, WePOWER, Junior Einstein and Special Track, involving around 183 participants from 16 countries.
