IEEE YESIST12

The IEEE YESIST12 event under Innovation Challenge (IC) was conducted on 09/06/2022 from 10:00 AM -4:00 PM in the online mode and it was a successful event. Total 38 teams registered for the event, 32 teams participated in it and have actively presented their idea it was judged by the jury members namely Mr.Swapnil Saurav(Manager at ServiceNow), Mr. Shashank K S(Senior Security Analyst at Elastic), Dr.Shrishail Kakkeri(Professor, Dept of mecanical Engg, SVCE), Mr,Prakash G(Assistant professor Dept of ECE,SVCE) 6 best projects are selected by jury members, its implemented in hardware and software the winning team with the highest marks is listed below as the winning team of the IC round.

Panimalar Institute of Technology in association with IEEE SB, YESIST12, IEEE SSIT, COMSOC Organized “IEEE YESIST12 INNOVATION CHALLENGE TRACK & JUNIOR EINSTEIN TRACK”, International Project Expo 2022. The theme for this challenge was “UN SUSTAINABLE GOALS”. This challenge was held on June 12 2022, through Google Meet. Totally 27 teams registered.

Innovation Challenge Track – Dr. N. Naga Saranya, Associate Professor & HOD / MCA was the jury for Track 1 and Mr. M. Arun, IEEE SBC & Vice Chairman IEEE Madras Young Professionals was the jury of Track 2. Team 17 from PES institute of Technology and Management, Team alpha from BS Abdur Rahman crescent Institute of Science and Technology and Team Dronacharya from Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology were awarded the top 3 positions in this challenge.

Junior Einstein – Sarvesh Pughazendi from The PSBB Millennium School, OMR, Chennai is selected as winner and Srivarshini S P from Maharishi Vidya Mandir Mangadu is selected as runner up.

The event was conducted successfully along with Dr. T. Jayanthy, Principal of Panimalar Institute of Technology and the staff coordinators Dr. M. P. Chitra IEEE SB Advisor, Mr. M . Arun IEEE SB Counsellor.

There are two steps in our prelim. Firstly, we accommodate any proposals from participants to select only five teams as top tier. After that, in the prelim event conducted on July 2nd, 2022, there are oral presentation for those five teams. The IEEE Yesist12 Prelims was conducted by IEEE MACE SB on 25 June 2022. The Judges for the event were Mr. Martin Antony, Assistant Professor, Mar Athanasius College of Engineering and Mr. Aswinraj K, Alumnus of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering who is currently working in Ligero, a startup.

The participants were given prior notification and intimated about their time slots and were also notified when their slot came up. After the WePower track, Innovation Challenge teams were called and the teams presented their ideas before the judges. Each team was given a time slot of 5 minutes for presentation and followed up by a few minutes of Q&A with the judges.

The session was organized in a well-planned manner and the event was coordinated by Ms. Ananya Babu and Mr. Aswin Dev, volunteers from IEEE MACE SB. The best team was selected as the winners based on the evaluation shared by the judges.
